PANTOMIME THEATER
PANTOMIME THEATER.
A book about the pantomime theater in Copenhagens Tivoli. This thoroughly illustrated book tells the story of the pantomime tradition in Denmark, the working days of the dancers and the technical machinery, where everything is done manually.

With her camera Annett Ahrends followed for two years the life behind the curtains in Tivoli theater. With the work of writer Henrik Lyding and graphic designer Juliane Lenz the book was published in the danish editing house Vandkunsten.

DIESEL WALL 07
DIESEL WALL.
Again in the finals for the Competition,
that year in Copenhagen! Our applicated artwork was a photo composition with the title: »Children ...«

With the forest we wanted to give the wall a third dimension. It would open up the house to give a look into it. Nature inside. Like a box within a box, inside the forest there′s a woman and inside the woman there′s a baby. It symbolizes the growth of what will be. It is the near future and yet so unreal. And what do people think before becoming pregnant? Children ...
... bear your name. Destroy your wallpaper. Give your life sense. Kill your career. Make you smile more often. Steal your time. Save your marriage. Cost money. Make you more attractive. Always want an ice cream. Make you take more responsibility. Give you the opportunity to exercise selflessness.

BEYOND PICTURE DIESEL WALL.
donna juan took part in the Contest in Berlin and ended up among the 5 finalists of over 1.300 participants.

A second book of poems and photographs is published in Modena/Italy under the title »terra scura«. Again it combines the work of the italian poet Lenin Montanari with photographs of Annett Ahrends.

»Ad occhi socchiusi« A book of poems by Lenin Montanari
For this book the Italian poet used photographs by Annett Ahrends to illustrate his texts. The poet works as a farmer in the region Emilia Romagna, where he produces milk for the famous Parmeggiano Reggiano and vine. We got to know him in 1995 when we looked for writers in the region for a book we wanted to do together. Since then we stayed in close contact and when Lenin asked for a co-operation for his new book, we already had fallen in love with his farm and his way of life, so it wa easy to consent. We had a very inspiring time at his place and Annett did a set of photographs. A selection of them was used for the book that was puplished in 1997 in Carpi/Italy.
THE START OF IT ALL:
Bagnolo/Emilia Romagna/Italia »Attentatori culturali all'opera Si avvicina »Teatrinstrada« Contrazioni, ovvero azioni contro.
